Jan 23, 2009· Adryerruns on 240 volts which is 2 seperate lines of 120 volts.The motor runs on only one circuit (120 volts) but theheatingelement needs 240 volts to work. So sometimes thedryerwill run with noheatif one side is blown. However if you are on breakers this willnotbe the case because both circuits will trip together.
