Article About Magnetic Separation

Magnetic Separation Articles. ElectroStaticSeparationof Minerals. Electrostatic phenomenon dates back to 600 – 700 B.C. when people noticed static electric effects (attraction of hair) when amber was rubbed with fur. Indeed, the word ‘electrostatic’ comes from the ancient Greek word ‘electron’ meaning amber. Electrostatic ...

Magnetic separationof cells is a simple, rapid, specific and relatively inexpensive procedure, which enables the target cells to be isolated directly from crude samples containing a large amount of nontarget cells or cell fragments. Many ready-to-use products are available and the basic equipment for standard work is relatively inexpensive.

Low FieldMagnetic Separationof Monodisperse Fe3O4

Nov 10, 2006·Magneticseparations at very lowmagneticfield gradients (<100 tesla per meter) can now be applied to diverse problems, such as point-of-use water purification and the simultaneousseparationof complex mixtures. High–surface area and monodisperse magnetite (Fe3O4) nanocrystals (NCs) were shown to respond to low fields in a size-dependent fashion.

Magnetic separationis a process used to separate materials from those that are less or nonmagnetic. All materials have a response when placed in amagneticfield, although with most, the effect is too slight to be detected.
